a doctor that isn't really specialized in anything specific and they just are kinda like the people that check you and tell you where to go when there is something that you need more professional stuff on.

A general practioner is a medical Doctor Who is a generalist (did not study a specialty during residency). Often referred to as a 'family doctor'.
