What is a Linkage map?

An association between two or more genes such that the traits they control tend to be inherited together.Or more simply:A genetic map based on recombination frequencies.

Why do people have different face features?

People have differences in the genes that map facial features. This is why identical twins (twins with the same genetic code) have the same facial features (disregarding non-genetic factors such as scars).

Is recombination mapping and genetic mapping both means same?

Yes, it is the same. Its output is a genetic map with the right order of genes on the chromosome and their distances from each other measured in M (morgans) or cM (centimorgans), which displays the frequency of recombination between two genes.
