I recently judged a middle school science fair and there were some interesting projects. Instead of explaining the projects, I'll do you one better! I'll list the hypothesis's that were presented (which I'm sure you're being asked to form and will have to present with your proposals).
1. Cat feces in the dirt grows grass better than banana peels.
2. Shoe soles that have more contact with Basketball courts are better for gripping than those with less sole contact.
3. Girls/Boys get more goosebumps on their arms when a feather is ran from their wrists to their elbows, than when a pencil tip is.
4. People sleep better when they exercise one hour a day, for 14 days, than if they didn't exercise at all.

A good idea for a science fair project is to do a project where you test which plant food will be the most effective. also, you can do which orange has more vitamin c. and who is the fastest kid in your grade or best speller.
Ohh and this is for 8th grade
you should do something that is very interesting. Pick a project that is unusual .you will get a good grade . don't forget a report if it is requested.
You cant get people to do work(thats if your a kid) if your a teacher then a good project is why does rain fall or what is the purpose of rain
There are many easy-to-do science projects for 6th grade. You can try a demonstration of a series circuit, or make a string phone with a pair of disposable cups.
Space exploration, new discoveries, the Hubble telescope making new images of galaxies, black holes is a good science project for everybody. Develop your science project making researches, and discovering what is new on this field, through NASA website.
a good one is soaking an egg in vinegar and watch it become clear or disappear
