Another new place to sell textbooks is at UniSquare. Basically the same as eBay but with no listing fees. Out of date textbooks can sit online for a long time so listing fees on eBay can become a problem.

∙ 12y agoThere actually aren't many orphanages in existence any more. However, there are still many places you can donate your books. Some online book sites accept donations of books to send to other countries. Your school might also have a program for low income students that could find a student who would be very happy to get the books. You might also want to try putting an add up at your local college.
