What is a good reading speed?

Answer:
It depends on how old you are and your comprehension. You can read 100 words per minute, but if you don't understand it, it's useless!

Another answer:
The average person reads at 200 words per minute. As the first responder states, "if you don't understand it, it's useless!"

With proper skills you can increase your speed dramatically. It all depends on the system you learn and if you will practice. The fastest speed where the reader is able to give an analysis of what they read is close to 30,000 words per minute using inspectional reading.
