granny gear is 1st gear. the lowest gear in transmission
it has the most power of all gears but is the slowest.in big trucks it is called granny gear ,because the the gear ratios are so low that the vehicle crawls along slowly like a granny.this gear is not used often on a road truck unless a start on an extremely steep hill with heavy load is required
