I don't know if there's an English word for one, but in Finnish we say "helsinkiläinen". You can form these words by putting together the city and "-lainen/-läinen", for example a person from Turku is turkulainen, from Tampere is tamperelainen and a person from New York is "newyorkilainen.
A Finn is a native of Helsinki.
Finns
The locals call it "Stadi"
There is no specific term in english. An inhabitant of Helsinki is called "Helsinkiläinen" or "Hesalainen" by other people from Finland. The people of Helsinki call themselves "Stadilainen" and regard being called "Hesalainen" stupid.
Nope. Helsinki is the world's northernmost metro area of over one million people, so you could call the people of Helsinki 'Nordic'. One who lives in Helsinki (Helsingfors) is called in Finnish "helsinkiläinen" and in Swedish "helsingforsare".
