Zeus = The King of the gods, controls lightning with his master lightning bolt. Is father to most of the Olympians.
Hera = Zeus's wife, Queen of the gods.
Poseidon = God of the sea, has a throne on Mt. Olympus but he lives in his own palace under the sea.
Hades = God of the Underworld, not invited to Olympus, ruler of the dead.
Athena = Daughter of Zeus, goddess of wisdom and battle.
Ares = God of War, also a son of Zeus.
Demeter = Goddess of the harvest, plants. Her daughter is Persephone.
Aphrodite = Goddess of love and beauty. Her son is Eros (or Cupid).
Hephaestus = God of fire married;to Aphrodite, also a son of Zeus.
Dionysus = God of wine and madness, he is a son of Zeus as well.
Apollo = God of light and music. But he is NOT the Greekgod of the sun. Helios is the son god. He is a son of Zeus.
