The three main causes of abnormal urine color are:

*The types of food you have eaten

* Health concerns

*Drugs you have taken

Typical causes for dark-yellow urine- Usually, dark-yellow urine is caused by lack of water for your kidney's. You are dehydrated and need some water, so if you have dark-yellow urine, drink some water, but not too much!

NOTE: Some food can also cause this to happen. Asparagus makes your urine darker yellow and it creates a strong odor.

Anyway, there are many abnormal urine colors, but It's best if your urine is a pale yellow. When you drink too much water your urine is a little white-ish , and may indicate over-hydration. When your urine is dark yellow it means that you haven't been drinking enough water, and you may be dehydrated.

Urine color is all about balance. Just like weight. If you are too skinny, that is not good because your bones become brittle, break easily and you suffer from anorexia (a terrible eating disorder that most likely is non-reversable once you get it, the chances of surviving it are very slim..)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anorexia_nervosa And if you are too overweight, then you will also result in death depending on severity....(at least it is not AS painful as anorexia nervosa!)

WARNING: Pay close attention to your urine color. Some may actually be related to a urinary tract infection! Consult a doctor at once if you have a feeling that your urine is abnormal. (just don't be bothering your doctor 24 hours a day worrying about urine color!

The drug tests I get are called RapidScreen

Its a cup with a top that has fiber tabs in it, you urinate and the fibers react with certain chemicals and show one red line for positive and two red lines for negative.
