A pixel is the smallest visual element on a video display screen (i.e. computer terminal or television set). The word "pixel" comes from "pix" (for picture) plus "el" (for element). A video screen contains thousands of pixels, each of which is made up of one or more dots, or a cluster of dots. You may also want to hear that a pixel is made of red, green and blue sub pixels. A signal is also nearby telling the pixel what to do, and also 3 sub pixels make a pixel. Pixels create colors you see every day. The shape of a pixel is rectangle.
