What is a post dated check?

In: Major Companies, Business Finance, Commercial Bank and Checking Accounts

It is a check that you write which cannot be cashed or posted until it reaches the date that you have written on the check. It is usually used for payments with collections agencies that want to assure a payment from debtors.
