I'm not quite sure what they are, as in, in definition as i am searching for the answer but i do know some examples of psychological barriers to health services. they are: fear of losing independence, the stigma associated with some services and not wanting to be looked after can deter people from making use of care services. mental health problems can also prevent those in need from accessing services.
An example of psychological barriers to health services would be a fear of going to the the chosen helth service because of coming into contact with the super bug. Or even attending a physio and being scared to loose independence or of not wanting to be looked after. Some people are proud to be looked after and so might be scared to ask for help as they may feel ashamed.

i'm pretty sure a psychological barrier is something that someone cannot get over, a limiting belief or fear to put it simply. for example, a person who witnessed the bitter divorce of their parents at a young age could hold on to the belief that no relationship ever works out, so they sabotage their own relationships. a person who was teased mercilessly in school for being ugly will always feel ugly, no matter what they look like. psychological barriers usually stem from childhood or adolescence. because of something that happened to them, how they interpret that situation then becomes the truth for them. hope that helped!
The barriers in the care sector are emotions. If not have dealt with certain feelings before by the feeler. '''Emotions can play a big part in barriers. It is important that workers within the health and social care field do not let their own emotions get the better of them. They must be professional and although friendships can be made it is important not too get attached to a service user or patient.''' '''In the health and social care setting many people may have problems and many things may be hard to deal with but workers must maintain professionals and not show a lot of emotion, yes we can empathise but we should not make a service user feel worse or more upset.!'''
A cultural barrier is a wall between two people because of identity differences. Cultural barriers can include language barriers, service users might not let you wear your traditional cloths of their culture, etc. for example in the UK, there are people that don't know English or it's not their first language. Muslim female only want to be treated by a female nurse as they might feel humiliated by a male doctor. If their GP is a male then the might not go then they can get seriously ill.
This can be overcome by having an interpreter when they go to a doctor, they can also go to a GP with a female doctor.

I belive that in health and social care, the ehtnicity and the beliefs and traditions that people of that ethnicity uphold or without a doubt follow are what sometimes become barriers. This is basically because there are some practices or beliefs that go againts the scientific principles involved in health social care. They may not believe them and so may not approve of some health care practices that their ethnicity will be agiants with.
