∙ 13y agoIn the UK, under the Weights and Measures Act, certain alcoholic beverages are specified and regulated as to the resale quantity permissible on licensed premises.
Whisky, gin, rum and vodka must be sold in quantities of 25 or 35 ml or multiples thereof for consumption on the premises. Unless pre-packaged.
Other spirits not mentioned in the Act but recognised by the law may be sold in any quantity.
Beer, as recognised by the Act must be sold in quantities of no less than one third of a pint unless pre-packaged.
The usual quantity or draught beers sold is a half pint or multiple of half.
