A sawzall is an electric reciprocating saw and a very versatile tool. The are available in corded and rechargable configuration. There are a variety of blades available from fine toothed for cutting thin wall pipe to long multi pitch teeth blades for cutting through wood and nails for building renovation. All major building supply and tool stores carry both 'sawzalls' and a range of blades.
I recently did cut up a fibreglass tub with a DeWalt reciprocating saw (sawzall in vernacular ) and found the best blade was a 9" demolition blade . I had tried a fine tooth metal cutting blade and it was too slow.

Yes. I have replaced a lot of old leaky cast iron sewer pipe and always use a sawzall. I use regular metal cutting blades. If you don't have the specific blade handy use bimetal cutting blades.
