I agreed with the above. I would add that the US also has many social programs that would be considered socialism by some like the public school systems, medicare and medical, firefighting services, police etc. These are state-run for the benefit of all, and are by definition socialist enterprises. Believe it or not, the military is a huge enclosed organization where everything is planned and organized for its people for things like health, spiritual, school, legal, groceries, exchanges, ect. From that point of view, it's like a large socialized organization. Most will not object to the way the military control things like this, yet it's not acceptable if expand it to the state or national level.
