The proper word is "ASTIGMATISM", it's one word, not two. This term refers to the shape of the eyes and many doctors will compare it to having football shaped eyes. That just means that the front of the eye has two different curvatures, like a football does. There is one curve that is more gradual, like going from tip to tip on the football; the second curve is like the steeper curve of the football (going around the circumference of the ball).

Astigmatism causes a double image or "ghost" image to the side of the object being viewed. This condition is not sight threatening and can be corrected by using glasses. (Not that the glasses correct the condition, but they compensate for it.)

You have a differnt or "weird" curvature in your eye. Your actual eye ball is curved for ex more inward. Makes it hard to wear contacts for some.
