Einstein's Theory of Relativity can be summarized by two points: 1. the speed of light in empty space is a constant independent of the state of motion of the emitting body and 2. equality of relative motion, thus the Theory of Relativity.
The first point should explain why light does not compound like a vector in the M-M experiment. It also defines the fourth dimension as a scalar r=ct and thus Space-time is a quaternion. Einstein did not realize the quaternion nature of Space-time.
The relativity example involves electromagnetism; if you move a magnet toward a wire or move the wire toward the magnet, the effect is the same and the effect depends on the relative velocity.
