Volcanoes are named after the lava that comes out.viscous volconoes (or acid and dome)are the samething.the lava comes to the surface close to subduction zones,which are found at convergent plate boundaries.it is high in silica content and does not flow easily.it contains gas which cannot escape easily,so eruptions may be explosive and violent.eg Caribbean volcanoes
