It's a computer hosting a website. My website, http://www.johnbraun.org, for example, is hosted on a webserver sitting in the room next to me. It's an old pentium II my brother gave me that is connected to the internet and is running a special operating system that serves pages from my site to any user who requests it. john

web server is a computer that stores the web documents. it will be accessed by using URL(Uniform Resource Locator). For each and every webserver you will have a unique URL.
