Depending on the college you attend, the name of the degree will vary. Some call it aeronautical engineering or aerodynamical engineering or aerospace engineering. The basic Bachelor's Degree in this field will provide the general knowledge for starting your career in designing aircraft or other fields related the study of airplanes. For some colleges, you can even specialize in orbital space study and different fields of fluid dynamics.

Who do engineers write technical reports to?

Engineers have mastered areas involving physics, chemistry, aerodynamics, materials science, and electricity just to name a few of their areas of expertise. More often then not, they provide technical reports to senior engineers within a company or to technical people who work in the US Patent Office and to engineers in other companies. Eventually these reports are broken down to simple language for company managers not familiar with high technical writing.

Explain how airplane designers have been influenced by the study of birds in flight?

The study of birds in flight helped many engineers to make wing designs of an aircraft. The aerodynamics involved in the flight of the bird impressed the engineers. Studying birds in flight hepled aircraft designers to get the Airbus A-380 airborne.
