What is an Emperador guitar?

[Edit]

It is a Japanese made guitar. I have an Emperador 12 String. It is a very full and mellow sounding guitar with surprisingly good tone for a laminated top guitar. In fact its tone is comparable to a Guild dreadnaught I own. No one seems to know much about this company other than that they were made in Japan in the 1960's and possibly into the seventies. Mine says "Emperador: Hand made: Japan" on the sound hole label. Some later models may have been manufactured in Korea and probably weren't as good a quality as the Japanese made instruments. One webpost indicated they were distributed by a company out of Chicago, IL but I can't remember the name of the company.
