What is an MSRP?

[Edit]

Answer

The Monroney Sticker Price, or Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), for a new car shows the base price, the manufacturer's installed options with the manufacturer's suggested retail price, the manufacturer's transportation charge, and the fuel economy (mileage).

Affixed to the car window, this label is required by federal law, and may be removed only by the purchaser.

The MSRP is also an important bargaining tool for car buyers- generally you want to get the salesman to sell for UNDER the MSRP, or include additional accessories to improve the deal you get. You can check MSRP on auto makers websites, and on websites like driverside.com.
