Valentine's Day Gifts for a New Love
If you are a guy then red roses are usually a good start. Red is for "love" according to Westernized symbolism. The shorter the stem on the rose the less expensive it is. You could give her 1 red rose with a bow around it and a nice card if you are short on cash.
A box of chocolate for her is another choice (usually come in a heart-shaped box.) You could also get her a nice heart-shaped locket (DON'T go to a jewelry store because they are very expensive, but go to the "teen shops" which usually carry an array of jewelry. If you want (and the locket opens) put a picture of yourself and her inside of it. If you don't have a picture of her, then put your picture in it and let her put her own in.
If it's for a guy, it's best to get them something you know they'd like. It could be aftershave, tickets to his favorite sports team (if you can afford it) or anything you feel he would like.
It always seems unfair that the women get the goodies, while the men don't in many cases, but this goes back hundreds of years when men who were in love use to sent Valentine's Day notes to their love (the woman NEVER returned an answer to that note) but it was evident when they saw each other that they were in love. It's about a man wooing a woman (courting.)
