An Army chaplain, or a chaplain from any branch of the military, is typically refered to as "Chaplain Jones". Typically, chaplains are not refered to by rank, as the calling into the chaplaincy is a higher calling than any rank the officer might attain.

A chaplain is a clergyman. Chaplains of various faiths are present in the world's armed forces, and their purpose is to provide spiritual ministry to military personnel. They wear uniforms and are part of the military structure, but like medical personnel they are non-combatants. If you have ever watched the television series M*A*S*H, Father Mulcahey was a chaplain.

Yes. Someone I know became a chaplain in the R.A.F. His criminal convictions would have made him almost unemployable outside of the forces and were mostly for varying degrees of assault. I do not know how you would go about submitting such a request., though.
