What is an example of figurative language? |
[Edit] |
Answer
Figurative language is language that uses imagery and figures of speech to convey an idea, a feeling, or a concept. It is the opposite of literal. Literal language states something exactly as it is:
- He loves her.
- I am hungry.
- You have a good idea.
Figurative language expresses things in a nonliteral way:
- He worships the ground she walks on.
- My belly is screaming for food.
- You just had a burst of brilliance.
