Reggae opera was coined by him in 1964 and was taken to his high school where he introduced it to his classmates, most notably Geoffrey Chung. Reggae opera is reggae music sung with an operatic style and classical rhythm just like the known classics of Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and others. It was a trench town creation in the tenement room where Ras Cardo grew up. To date only one known reggae opera DIVA exists who also hails from Kingston, Jamaica. Trench town however is the first for many things musical and Ras cardo has chosen to keep a lot of its creations and talents from exploitations.
