120/80 give or take.
Your ideal blood pressure should be 120/80 or lower.
The traditional threshold for "high blood pressure" has been 140/90mm Hg, however recent research shows that even blood pressure readings close to this value present significantly elevated risks. The Framingham Heart Study (largest in the world) showed men with "high-normal" readings of 130-39/85-89 had a 150% increase in heart disease over a ten year period, and for women it was a 60% increase. Many doctors now refer to the range of 120-39/81-89 as "pre-hypertension".
For a small number of people their blood pressure may be too low to provide adequate circulation to their extremities, causing cold fingers/toes and dizziness when standing up suddenly. This may indicate dehydration, but low blood pressure always much better for the heart and arteries than high blood pressure.
It is a good idea to test your blood pressure regularly and note any trends or changes in your baseline level. Again, any increase over 120/80 puts extra stress on your arteries, likely leading to a rupture or heart attack.
The optimun reading is: 120 mmHg and 80 mmHg; sometimes said 120 over 80
Where 120 mmHg is the systolic blood pressure and 80 mmHg is the diastolic
blood pressure
It is important to know that 120/80 is the highest a person's blood pressure should be. Many people's blood pressure is lower and that is healthy. Everyone is different but for the most part a healthy blood pressure is a systolic between 90-120 mm Hg, and a diastolic is between 60-80 mm Hg
110/60
This answer is incorrect. 140/90 is the beginning of hypertension or high blood pressure and 90/60 or less is hypotension or low blood pressure. 120/80 to 110/70 is the optimal range.
I suffer from high blood pressure at 42yrs old and was diagnosed around 4yrs ago. The medication my doctor prescribed is Norvasc, 20mg once daily before bed and it seems to be helping. According to my doctor and his P.A. the normal average blood pressure is 120/80. I tend to average aroung 160/120. According to them that isn't bad for someone with my lineage and condition. Thank God my cholesterol is normal. There's a history of Heart disease on my mother's side.
For most peopel, an ideal blood pressure is anything under 120/80.

Arterial pressure
No, this blood pressure is actually within the new guidelines for optimum blood pressure (110/70). A blood pressure that is too low would be symptomatic, such as feinting or lightheadedness when standing.
The upper reading is the systolic blood pressure while the lower reading is the diastolic blood pressure. Systole is the contraction of the heart while diastole is the relaxation of the heart.

normal blood pressure reading
The normal blood pressure is usually between 120-140 mm Hg (systolic) and 80 - 90 mm Hg (diastolic). Anything higher will be considered as high blood pressure
Systolic (the higher number) is a reading of the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is beating at its maximum strength. Diastolic (the lower number) tells you what the pressure is in your blood vessels when your heart is at rest.
