Is Homer's Iliad public domain or copyright?

It is public domain, copyright did not exist in Homer's time; and even if it did it only holds for 70 years past the death of the writer, which has long since expired. Strictly speaking this applies only to the original work (i.e., the Greek text). A specific translation of the original work can be copyrighted just as any other document can; if you're planning on publishing a version in, say, English, make sure the copyright on the translation itself (if any) has expired.

Is the movie Troy real?

No. The Battle of Troy was not Fiction. There really was a Battle of Troy. The City of Troy was really destroyed. Archaeologists have discovered its ruins. Now, we have no idea how much of the story of the battle as retold in the Iliad and Odyssey was fiction. We do not know if the walls were breached by using a wooden horse or some other means. We do not know if the battle took 10 years. All we know for sure is that the city of Troy was destroyed by warfare.

How did Homer the poet become blind?

It's not even known for sure that he was blind; there are no good historical references to him being so. And so the question has no answer -- we don't know if he was blind, and, if he was, we don't know how he got that way.Actully Homer was in an Accident while fighting against his brother 4 years before he died. His brother said that if he told anyone that his own brother did it then........ well lest us just say no more homer!!!!!!!!!actually noone knows that for sure because some books say that his brother told him he would kill the person he loves the most some books say that his brother threatened him hed kill him but really noone really knows the true answer to any of that about him
