Space marines first of all the eldar have big forces at low costs but there weak space marines don't come in huge squads but you can equip stuff like missile launcher heavy bolter which can demolish the foe eldar are quite expevive in money 30 for one squad eldar are good in getting around the battle field because they have huge squads of jetbikes the space marines arnt very fast but they make that up in heavy support land raiders an stuff like that because of forge world the other player may have stuff you have never seen believe me an arnt in the codex's\ if the athor player has them say no the point is space marines are better

If you're looking for a force that is easier to get miniatures for, has a greater range, and is all-together more supported, normal eldar definately. However I have been summarily defeated by dark eldar players so its really up to the player. If you're a new player, I would suggest eldar over dark eldar, but then again I wouldn't suggest eldar to a new player as they are a very specialized army that relies on serious strategic thinking.

It all depends on your fighting style.

If you like to charge in and shoot the Hibbidy Gimlets out of them then you should choose the Necrons but if you, like a lot of players, want a fairly equal army with Great Long Range and Close Combat then go for The Space Marines.

One of the major pros of the Necrons is the ability to come back to life with the 'We'll be Back' rule but they're pretty average at everything so can be beaten easily. The Space Marines however are a different story. Being Genetically modified they are strong and accurate, they also have access to powerful weapons and have loads of heavy support, unfortunately they aren't the best at any of these things.

Orks are better at Close Combat, Eldar Long Range so Space Marines are distinctly average much like the Necrons.

It's a common error for people to say "best" when asking a question about the factions.

Eldar happen to be a mobile army, commonly not played much anymore because they're harder to master than other races, also their codex is a bit out-dated. It was written during 4th edition.

Space Marines are well balanced like their Chaos Space Marine counter-parts, easily both of these two are perfect choices for just learning the game.

Tau excel at long range, so if you can properly manage that without getting into close combat through proper uses of Kroot allies, they're a great force.

Tyranids just look cool and are quite powerful, hardest part is that they (like Orks) have many models, meaning you have to assemble, prime and paint a lot of them. They're also relatively easy to play or extremely straight forward in basic tactics, rush across the board and rend everything. This can be countered relatively easily. Simply focus the fast targets and out-maneuver the slow. Tyranid hunting made easy. Good luck, btw I play Chaos Space Marines, never regretted the decision since.

Can necrons team up with chaos space marines?

Theoretically, any faction can team up with another, as long as you have a good enough reason. Technically, Necrons and Chaos are enemies, so they would never 'team up', per se, but one could create a feasible story in which they both work to exterminate the Imperium. They wouldn't be working 'together' (because Necrons would kill any living thing--including Chaos Marines--on sight) but they would have the same goal.

No. The only armies in the game are Chaos or Space Marines. Being a necron player, I too wish they were in Warhammer 40k: Squad command.

Can orks team up with space marines?

Technically you can play any army against any army, and any army with any army, except where rules specifically state that you may not (E.g. Black Templars may never ally with an army containing pyschers) It would however be extremely unusual, but so long as you have a good background story, it should be fine.
