1GB of DDR2 is definitely better. DDR3 is only a teeny tiny bit faster RAM. You'd barely
be able to tell in a benchmark test.
But to have double the amount, that's a huge difference.
If you need 1gb of ram, go with the two 512mb chips. that way, your ram's memory frequency is doubled, and you have the same amount of ram.
Pretty horrible. By today's operating system standards, you need at least 2 Gigabytes. Today, RAM is extremely cheap. I recommended buying 4-8 gigabytes for your computer, you can add more.
512 MB RAM is not very good at all. All newer operating systems require at least 1 GB of RAM to be able to run a basic installation.
The one with 1GB of RAM. 512MB is 0.5 of 1GB
if you have installed two 512 MB of ram, then it could be due to ram slot. may be your one ram slot is faulty.
One half of 512 is 256.
As the memory speed is limited, you essentially double the available speed by having two modules, as they run in parallel. The efficiency is generally increased by 20-30% by having two 512mb modules rather than one 1GB module.
No its not better, a Gb is amount to 1024 Mb :P
1GB = 1024MB So there is 0,5 GB in 512 MB
16 GB (gigabytes) is better than 512 MB (megabytes). 512 megabytes is half of one gigabyte.
first of all its if NOT is two seprate module of even same company will give less performance, because they are installed of a same bus, so one module can performa his action while second have to wait. on the other hand single module will give more performance.
512. 8X8X8=512 Or 8^3=512
Sure just make sure you have enough slots because they might have 2x 256MB sticks and only 2 slots if this is the case then you will have to buy 1x 1GB stick and dispose of the other two or you may find you have just 1x 512MB stick and one empty slot then you guessed it just stick in another 512 stick... just make sure you buy DDR PC2100.
512
making them match is always better but as long as they are the same type they will work fine. Try to get a 3gb matching pair instead of a 2gb and a 1gb
