Bromine is also used as water purification, making engines in cars run better, and are also on rare occations bromine used as a pesticide.

In the oil & Gas industry Bromine Trifluoride is used as the main agent on a device called a "Chemical Cutter" Which is used to cut sections of piping inside an oil well. This is used by lowering said tool with Electric Line or "Wireline" and the tool pushes the chemical through a mesh filled with mineral oil making making it react to achieve high temperatures and then shoots the reacting chemical towards the pipe which then "melts it" in a radial fashion so that part of the stuck pipe can be recovered
