Calico fabric was popular during the 1800's. It was a common cotton fabric often known as being used by the pioneers. It is referenced in the "Little House on the Prairie" books as being used for dresses for the girls. Today it is used for quilting and other homemaking crafts.

Fabric paint is commonly used in South Africa where fabric painting is considered both a stress releiver and creative. Fabric paints should be used on fabrics, preferably those made of 100% natural fibers. Some examples of fabrics made from natural fibers are, wool, cotton, calico and silk.
HOW TO OIL PAINT ON CALICO FABRICCalico makes a wonderful surface on which to paint as it has a nice tooth and a beautiful surface quality yet is not as coarse as canvas or duck fabric. I recommend wrapping your calico around hardboard or masonite cut to your dimensions and notstretching it over a wooden stretcher (as you would with canvas) as generally the calico is not strong enough and you risk tearing. Here's what to do:1.) Cut a piece of calico fabric approximately 2-inches larger all the way around than your hardboard or masonite.2.) Coat your calico with gesso or latex paint, place your hardboard on the coated calico, and wrap your edges to the back of the board. Your gesso or latex will "glue" the calico to your board.3.) On front and working from center outwards, use your hands or a damp sponge to press out any air bubbles from under the surface of the calico.4.) Over 3 days, apply 3 coats of gesso or latex, and allow 24 hours drying time between coats. Coat both sides of your board or else your board will warp. When perfectly dry, your calico is ready to paint on.

Art made of pieces of paper, fabric and photographs, etc. glued to a surface is called a collage
Since batik is essentially a dyeing technique, you can really create anything from that said fabric. I have mostly observed people making tapestries, yet I have read some books where clothes were also made from the fabric.

Cotton fabric, on the other hand, refers to any fabric that is made from cotton fibers, which can be woven in different ways and dyed in various colors. In summary, calico is a specific type of cotton fabric with its own characteristics, while cotton fabric is a broader category that includes various types of fabrics made from cotton.

no animals live in calico because calico is a type of fabric
Calico is a woven fabric. It is made from cotton that is unbleached. This unbleached cotton usually has not been treated much. This means that the fabric has little black specks of seed and is quite stiff. Washing the fabric will soften it, remove the seeds and also cause the fabric to shrink quite a bit.
im asking you can calico be ironed and at what temperature
yes, any fabric that is called cotton is usually 100% cotton. However, calico refers to the design, not the fabric content, and could be made from any type of fiber.
Not all types of calico fabrics are waterproof, but there are certain waterproof calico fabrics.
