Charismatic is a way of describing some pentecostal denominations or individual pentecostal churches which are very audible and demonstrative in their styles of worship such as:
--Some use a worshipful dance (often choreographed Ballet style or interpretive style by youth groups) as a form of worship during services ("dance before the Lord").
--Using upbeat, modern praise and worship music and other forms of audible praise and worship that may involve a concertive participation by the congregation. This helps form a binding unity within the church and helps those who are afraid to express themselves overcome this when everyone around is also expressing their love and worship for God audibly.
--Charismatic literally means "having charisma" or being appealing to the masses.
--Charismatics and Pentecostals, in general, are often criticized for their expressive worship; but, The Bible tells Christians to worship the Lord, dance beofre the Lord and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. People aren't afraid to express their support and love for their favorite sports teams at a ball game in a crazy, fanatical way. When we consider what God has done and how awesome and worship-deserving He is, why should we be afraid (or ashamed) to express our feelings for Him in an audible fanatical way? Who deserves this attention more--God or a ball team?
