Confidentiality has been defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as "ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to have access" and is one of the cornerstones of Information security. People who have information sholud only be allowed to access it, most privte letters come with the heading in bold and red saying private and confidentiallshowing that letter is only accesable to those whose name is on it.

∙ 14y agoDepends on what phrase and context its being used in since this is in the health section I'm basing it on health - If you say something that is personal / embarrassing to a Doctor / Nurse they will assure you that it is confidential meaning they wont tell friends or parents or others in the workplace if they do however this is breaking the Doctor/Patient contract which could result in you suing them
