Best Answer

The chemical process by which a molecule of water is removed from the reactants to join the reactants together.

Dehydration synthesis takes place when the monomers of organic compounds join together by a chemical reaction to make polymers. Hydrolysis its the opposite reaction of breaking up polymers and is accomplished also by chemical reaction.

There is actually no such thing, i think you meant either dehydration synthesis or hydrolysis (which is the oppisite of dehydration synthesis). Hydrolysis is hydration synthesis, but they just don't call it that.

What is removed in dehydration synthesis What kind of bond is made by dehydration synthesis How do you break apart this bond?

Water is removed during dehydration synthesis. A covalent bond is produced by dehydration synthesis. Hydrolysis, the addition of water, can break apart this bond.

What does synthesis mean in a chemical equation?

To synthesize means to blend into one substance. Most commonly a solution. A synthesis is the result of synthesizing 2 or more substances. Salt water would be the synthesis of water and salt.

Is an example of dehydration synthesis?

An example of dehydration synthesis would be two monosaccharide's joining together. For example, glucose and fructose. Another word for synthesis is combination.

What type of chemical reaction occurs when polymer apart by water?

Dehydration synthesis, also called condensation, is the type of reaction that builds polymers by removing water.

How can you tell if a chemical equation represents condensation synthesis?

When a water molecule is being taken from the equation, that represents condensation synthesis, also known as dehydration synthesis. When a water molecule is being added to the equation, it represents hydrolysis.
