A countersink is a tool that creates a groove and a hole that allows the screw to be easily screwed inside of the wood's surface, while the countersink only creates a hole to allow the screw to be easily screwed in. The crown of the screw is exposed on the surface if the countersink is used. If the counterbore is used, the screw is not exposed directly, as it is inside the groove that is made.
A countersink bit.

difference between lathe and drill machine doing full on piece of metal
what are the Basie difference between drill ship, jack up ring and submersible rig /
On a pedestal drill the workpiece is static and the drill is in a vertical position and rotates. On a lathe the workpiece rotates but not the drill, and the drill is in a horizontal position.
A countersink bit.
Almost any place that has drill bits should have a countersink bit. Drills a pilot hole and the tapered countersink in one step.
It's to drill a pilot hole for the screw and a recess for the head to go into.
Counter bore, countersink, spot facing and taper hole
There is no difference, I drill both frequently with the same drill bits.
Countersinking is the drilling of part of the metal/wood, so as to allow an ordinary countersink screw head to lie flush with the surface. The angle of the head of a countersunk screw differs from the angle of a standard drill. So one should use a special countersink drill for the job. It is not proper to prepare the hole, for a countersunk head, by using a standard metal drill.
The only difference between a battery drill and a regular drill is the type of power source. A battery drill is one that does not require a power cord, but can only last a finite amount of time.
metal drill bit has a finer point
It's one that has a point of a basic screw size, and a bit further up it widens to the size of that screws head, so you can make a countersink hole with the same drill.
A countersink is used to recess a countersunk wood screw into the surface of the wood. It is a conical shaped area at the surface end of a screw hole and made by a counter sink drill bit. Detailed descriptions and diagrams are at the web liknk below.
Mainly that one is a drill, and the other, a screwdriver.
The 3/8 drill is one eighth larger.
