Physical change- A physical change can be reversed and the object changed is still the same object. The Molecular structure of this object is not changed to make another substance. An example of this would be cutting paper with scissors or shattering glass on the floor.

Chemical Change- A chemical change usually cannot be reversed. After this type of reaction takes place a new substance is created. The molecular structure of the object is changed to make a new substance. An example of this would be burning wood, rusting, or mixing vinegar and baking soda. Tell tale signs of a chemical change is that heat, light, and gasses are given of during the reaction.

simpler- physical change- state change like liquid to gas. the previous person is right about a chemical change.

A physical change is one in which the composition of the substance is NOT changed, only the appearance of it is. A chemical change is one in which the composition of the substance IS changed.

An example of a physical change is tearing up a piece of paper. You started off with one full sheet of paper and at the end you were left with about 20 sheets of paper. The composition of the paper remained the same: it was still paper. The only difference is that the paper is now smaller than we began with.

An example of a chemical change is metal rusting. The entire composition of the metal is changed. We started off with a metal, and when it reacted with the oxygen in the air, it changed to rust through oxidation-reduction reactions.

A physical change stays the same like tearing paper

A chemical change makes the substance something new like fireworks explode (fireworks change to explosion)

During a physical change, the substance does not undergo a change in chemical composition. During a chemical change, the substance does undergo a change in chemical composition.

Physical change, changes the appearance or the surface. Chemical change, changes the minerals inside the object. Physical deals with the appearance and the surface. Chemical changes the structure of the minerals inside the object.
