What is the diff between CD and DVD?

CDs were made earlier than DVDs. CDs were a new version of the very old black disks. DVDs were invented later, DVDs are put in a rectangler box because it was an earlier version of a video tape.

The difference is the disk, dvdr has a slightly smaller disk, to most you wont even be able to see it, the fact of using dvd disc's means that youll be able to have the bigger disc's meaning better memory as it has more space to hold more!

The main difference is that the dips and rises in a dvd are much smaller than on a cd, meaning that more can be cut into a dvd so that more data can be stored on it. Because of this the laser in a dvd drive is more precise than one in a cd drive, so, although a dvd drive can read a cd, a cd drive cannot read a dvd.
