What is diffusion?

Answer:

Diffusion

Physics and Chemistry
Diffusion is the movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Diffusion is not to be confused with osmosis, which is the movement of water through a semi-permeable membrane. However, osmosis is a special case of diffusion.

Lighting (as in photography)
Diffusion means to scatter light. A similar effect can be achieved by placing a gelatin silk plate over a camera or projection lens.

Generally, from the eyes of a 7th grader, diffusion is when molecules of which are concentrated in one area spread out like if you spray air-freshener in one side of a room and the scent spreads throughout the room that is diffusion.
