Can you have xfinity for internet and direct TV as your TV?
Absolutely! Its what I currently have set up (Xfinity for internet and DirecTV for TV). You would just get a bill from each! --------- If you are thinking about ordering DirecTV and you tell them you were refereed by a friend (My Account # 036241458) when you sign up you receive $100 in bill credits!... Keep in mind you must give them the account number during the initial phone call asking for service! Its a win win since we both save money and get $100 in bill credits!!

Does directv need a phone line?
Hi, Just unplug the land line. The purpose of the land line was to connect and report any programs you had purchased for billing purposes, and it may disable some functions in your receiver if you leave it unplugged for any length of time. Used to be that the box would store up to 12 movie purchases on PPV, so that if you used your receiver in a mobile home or on the road, it would call in and report them when you got back home, so that you could be billed. Not too sure how Direct handles things now, but I would imagine that having it unplugged for a short period of time wouldn't pose much of a problem. Best bet is to search on the web for more info on the subject and find out what's going on with them currently. Hope this helps, Cubby

It really depends.. I had Comcast for about 5 years and decided to switch to DirecTV about a year and a half ago.. I absolutely love it! DTV has the priced locked in while Comcast only has the "6 month promotion" and then the price goes up..plus you get better quality and more channels.. You also have the refer a friend option using directv where you can save $100 in bill credits ($10 a month) -- If you are thinking about ordering and you tell them you were refereed by a friend (My Account # 036241458) when you sign up you receive $100 in bill credits!...
