What is dismissal about?

Answer:

In court, and legal language, it means that the case that the judge has in front of him is not sufficient to sustain the charge for which the defendant has been arrested. There are TWO types of dismissal. Dismissal WITH prejudice, and dismissal WITHOUT prejudice. "With' prejudice means that the charge is completely and totally thrown out and the prosecutor may not re-institute that exact same charge against the defendant. "Without' prejudice, means that the prosecutor MAY re-institute that same charge but he must first 'clean-up' or re-word,' or "do-something" to the case in order to make it legally viable. Once he does that, he may re-institute the charge against the defendant, if he wishes.
