This is a false etymology. In fact, SPAM comes from a Monty Python sketch, where a can of SPAM keeps coming on the screen all the time, hiding the actors, for commercial purposes.
Hormel created Honey Grail Spam in honor of the Monty Python Spam sketch. The can's label was very much in the Monty Python style ... very funny.
One has a capital "D".
