eSATA refers to a SATA port located externally near other onboard ports. Hard drives, SSDs, and optical drives can be connected to this.

It is a SATA port on the outside of the case.

This port is commonly found on cable DVR boxes as well in order to add additional storage capacity to the DVR cable box.
