Ear notching is the practice of cutting a small (usually triangular) section out of the edge of a pig's ear in order to identify the owner of that pig, similar to branding of horses and cows. It is commonly performed on very young piglets, six weeks old or less.

∙ 16y agowell actually there are some different ways. you have ear notching and you have taggs. there are a few more like tattos.tattos are on the inside of the ear. tagging is where you put a tag through a swines ear. it may fall off in the pig pen. so watch out for that. mercedes stone!!
