I've seen people posting so many erroneous answers regarding USPS 1st class delivery time. I've seen anywhere from 2 to 5 days posted.
Whey not use what USPS say themselves? According to USPS's website:
http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/request.do?create=kb:USPSFAQ&view()=c%7B12adaeb0-57e2-11dc-51b6-000000000000%7D
First-Class Mail®
Estimated delivery time is two to three days.
This goes without saying, delivery times vary in the U.S. based on region, weather, and local post office branches on sending and receiving ends.
Furthermore, USPS recently (2012) announced they would actually be "slowing" their services down in attempts to save money. Not sure of the exact date or time period. As of this posting, an actual date has not been set, nor approval yet given.
