According to the definition of the Menstruation category here:
"Menstruation is the routine discharge, or release, of blood and mucosal tissue from the uterus. This process occurs about once a month from the time a female reaches puberty until menopause. During pregnancy, the monthly menstrual cycle is absent while the womb nourishes the growing fetus."
The 'nickname' for this process is period.
a period is when the blood sheds from the nest that is forming in your stomach to have a baby and the blood comes out your vagina. you will need to use a pad which is a absorbent little pad that you put in your underwear and when the blood comes out the pad absorbs it in. you can also use a tampon which is worn inside the body. it takes in the blood before it comes out of the body. i would prefer tampons because they feel drier and do not make such a mess.
For me, I don't like tampons and I have to dance, but lucky for me i have spring break this week and don't have to worry about it except the fact that i have to take a shower. that's the only thing I'm worried about, other than that don't worry about it.

If a girl has her period it all she is not pregnant. Irregularities in when the girl starts her period are a natural phenomena. the only way to control is, is by using the anticonception pill, but "the girl" has to see her doctor about that.
Once a girl has begun to menstruate (get her period), then she is able to have a baby and become sexually active.
