I interpret this chapter with a slight twist, according to the bible our body's the "temple' of the Lord. So when I read the chapter, I believe it is saying to us unless we tend to that temple & build/rebuild it we will not receive the fullness of the glory/blessing of God. The Bible gives instruction many time ppl including myself only look at God's promises but those promises come with requirements of us. The chapter say if we don't build it to hounor God & just focus on our own promotion we will never reach the success we desire in many things, He will bring a drought to us. Our money will be as if in a bag full of holes, food/drink will not satisfy us, clothes will not warm us & nothing will ever be "enough". Even our relationship will disappoint us. We must think about what we are doing & if we are being obedient to God & what He tells us to do.

Haggai's main message is to encourage the people to prioritize rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem, emphasizing the importance of faithfulness to God and seeking His glory above all else. He also reminds the people of the significance of obedience to God's commands and the blessings that come from honoring Him.
