During prophase, the chromatin in the nucleus begins to condense to form chromosomes. Nuclear envelope and nucleolus dissolves.

In meiosis, during early and middle prophase I of meiosis the chromosomes become distinct and rodlike. Also during early and middle prophase I of meiosis synapsis occurs. During late prophase I of meiosis the chromosomes become clearly double-stranded and the nuclear membrane begins to disappear.

During prophase, several things happen:

  1. Chromatins condense to form chromosomes.
  2. Nuclear envelope dissolves

How does diplonema differ from diakinesis?

Diakinesis is the last stage of prophase during meiosis. Diplonema is the doubled form of the chromosome strand during the diplotene stage of meiosis.

Prophase occurs during which stage of the cell cycle?

It occurs in the first stage.

During which phase does the chromatin condense into chromosomes?

The chromosomes coil up and condense during prophase

What structure will the chromatin become in mitosis?

The chromatin in the cell becomes chromosomes in prophase, the first stage of mitosis. The chromatin coils tightly together to form into separate chromosome strands during this phase.

A synaptonemal complex disappears during?

After the pachytene stage, or in the end of it.

What stage does chromatin condense to chromosomes?

During mitosis, chromosomes are in their most condensed form during metaphase

During which stage of mitosis does the nucleus break down?

telophase (4th)

What stage mitosis is it when chromosomes shorten and thicken and the nuclear membrane begins to disappear?

In prophase stage, the replicated chromosomes condense and the nuclear envelope disappears. Earlier in prophase, chromatin visible condenses into the chromosomes.

During which stage of meiosis do synapsis and the formation of tetrads occur?

The formation of tetrads are formed during p1(prophase 1)

What stage of mitosis does the nucleolus disappears?

I am not 100% shure on this but i do believe it to take place during prophase

In what phase does chromosomes condense and become visible?

The chromosomes in a cell's nucleus are only visible during the part of the cell cycle known as prophase. Prophase is the stage of mitosis in which chromatin condensation occurs.

During what cell cycle phase is the spindle formed?

The spindle forms during prophase of mitosis or meiosis. The spindle is made up of protein fibers, which are microtubules of the cytoskeleton.
