"Hub and spoke" is a term in air transportation to describe a common method for an airline to organize their flights. Airlines will have hubs in a few cities where most of their flights will originate, with spokes out to non-hub cities. Much like the hub and spokes of a bicycle tire. When flying from one city to another, you will typically have a connecting flight through one of the airline's hubs. This system can also be implemented with other forms of mass transit, and cargo transportation.
In computer terms a hub and spoke network system looks like a bicycle wheel. One central bike / computer hub with the cables from the hub to each computer on the network like the spokes of the wheel between the hub and the rim. This design has simplicity as an advantage and hub breakdown as the big disadvantage.
A transportation hub is a moving system
An active hub can act as a repeater hub. It may also work as an Ethernet hub, network hub, and a multiport repeater.
An expansion hub is a powered hub that is 2.0 and USB. It simply allows you to connect to devices that you were not able to connect to with a regular hub.
There are a number of places one can find an investors hub. They can be found on websites such as 'Investors Hub', 'Hub Group' and also on 'PennyStocks24'.

between the hub and the rim.
If you have a wheel consisting of an outer hoop (the rim) and a central part (the hub), then the spokes are the thin bits that tie the rim and the hub together.
A bike hub is mainly turned on a lathe. Spoke holes are drilled and if it's a hub brake or a rear hub there may be some milling too.
A spoke is one of those long thin rods that go between the hub and the rim to make up the wheel.
Depends on which side of the $$ your on. For the traveler & the cities served, hub & spoke means that non hub cities have almost NO direct flights with other non hub cities. Hub & spoke means the flights tend to be fuller, meaning more money for the airline but less comfort for the traveler. Fewer direct flights mean more time to get to a destination. ie.. if you wait for the schedule there is probably one or two 4 hour direct flights a day from Atlanta to Phoenix. However, if you do hub & spoke, you can fly Delta hub Atlanta- Delta hub Salt lake city the same 4 hours wait for a connection and at least one hour the catch a regional jet down to Phoenix add another hour of flight time. Total time wheels up in Atlanta to On the ground in Phoenixx 6+ hours. Most accidents in aviation happen on take off or during the approach to landing sequence. Hub & spoke actually increases the number of take offs & landings each day so some argument can be made that safety is in some ways diminished.

The Cisqo system hub tends to be a little more reliable than the HP AHA HUB.
Can't be answered w/o knowing the exact measurements of the hub. Get yourself a ruler and a caliper and I'll post links to some spoke calculators.
-It helped to ensure that connecting flights belonged to the airline. -It emphasized service to large cities. -Aircraft arrived at predictable (albeit intense) intervals, generally lessening workload for the airport staff and air traffic controllers. Routing all traffic through a hub allows airlines to operate more efficiently while controling costs. The hub is a central location from which the day to day operations of the airline can be managed. Keeping operations in a central location, minimizes staffing as well as supply inventory. The hub and spoke system increases aircraft utilization and passenger load factors.
