What is importance of studying geography?

geography means studying earth , and earth is the planet that you live in , it's so important because you can't live in a place that you don't know anything about it only if you were a stranger , and even strangers have hopes to learn more about the place that their in , if you get a problem , like your lost some where , and your trying to get back home , but if you know geography well , you might help your self finding a way out , for e.g your can take a look around you , and ask your self how did that happen ?? only rivers make this and i know there is a river in east , and i live north , so i will go that way to get home ............ , you can see by this e.q that geography is really important in life ,,,,,
